I’M CONFLICTED

(A big part of the human condition involves ambivalent feelings so…)

…because I want Trump to fail spectacularly in the worst way. His every character trait - the pretension, the braggadocio, the pomposity, the grandiosity, the misogyny, the lying, the bullying, the victimhood - repulses me. At the same time, a 12.5% ytd return in the 401K is nice. Can’t we just dump his incompetent ass, without the skittishness in the market that follows such events?

My life is easier now because I went to work for the monolith - instead of chasing dreams - but have always had mixed feelings about working for a big corporation - becoming a corporate whore so to speak. The latest conflict arises from the imminent implementation of 5G connectivity - stuff I will be ordering - and it’s usefulness for AI. Will I be partially responsible for the rise of a sentient Skynet? You know there’s some engineer in Bedminster working on that very thing this afternoon.

…by the world we’re creating and choosing to live in: a divisive one, one where we accentuate the differences rather than the similarities, one where we indiscriminately despoil the only resources we have, where the end-all be-all is the accumulation of more green pieces of paper than the next guy, where moral fortitude is constantly espoused but rarely exhibited. I don’t know what the answers are, but I sure can guess what they aren’t.
